Why do we assume that what students say they want is what will best
motivate them?
Salma Hussein Comment by Salma Hussein on December 12, 2007 at 11:11am
A simple answer to that is, they are the people who would best know
what would motivate them. Listening to students sends a message
that they are important and their ideas are just as good as any
adult. This then bridges the gap between the older generation and
the younger generation..... :)

I do agree with Salma. Things are a lot different from when my
friends parents went to school. We are the people that go to the
schools today. And there is a big difference in violence and drug
problems that weren't as big as when even my parents went to
school. So talking with us students could really benefit the
schools because who knows the schools better? The 30 teachers? Or
over 200 students that are actually going through the troubles of
the school?

The reason for the schools problems is the budget. The budget cuts
don't do anything but raise prices, and we need those teachers to
help the kids with the drug and violence problems.
