Tell us a little about yourself.
I work at the Citizens League as a public policy analyst, focusing mostly on education policy. I grew up in Minneapolis and went to Barton, South High and Washburn.
Why are you interested in Students Speak Out?
I study education, but I think we adults often get it wrong - we're not there every day. We need to hear more from students - and we need to work together to make change.

Thank you, Victoria! Did you see I have a son at Marcy Open? It's always great to see the good things our Minneapolis open students are up to.

That's neat, I admire Js. =]

A couple of representatives of the Minneapolis school board visited my school and told me about it as they were leaving.
How did you get involved?

Oh, that picture is (was!) this huge tree on my block that all the neighbors called "Big Tree" (creative name, right?!). It was cut down this summer because of dutch elm and it was so sad for all of us, since it was really sort of place to play for lots of the kids in the neighborhood. It was over 100 years old, too, apparently. We were sad to see it go...so I took some pictures.

Hi! I was told by Brett that I should contact you about a writing group? Can you tell me more about this? I love to write, so maybe it would be a good opportunity. Thanks!

PSEO is going great!! I love it so much. Maybe I'm just glad to be out of my high school but I'm really lucky I got the chance to do this and its helping me a lot by saving some good, hard cash! :)
